Top Tip 2: Eye contact

It is important to get down to eye level and make eye contact with your  child when you are communicating with them...

You can do this by kneeling down, picking them up or hold them on your lap.

It makes it so much easier for them if you always do this. Imagine how difficult it is for them being so short and looking up at your face.

To get your child's attention, take objects they are playing with and bring them next to your face. This way you can easily get their attention and give them the language for what they are doing and playing with.

Remember to also make sure you are facing towards the light or window at the same time, so they can see your face clearly as well.
